Patrick Moran has joined Gordon & Rees's Chicago office as Senior Counsel in the Employment Law and Franchise Law Practice groups. Mr. Moran represents employers in claims involving discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and retaliation brought under Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, and ADA. He also frequently advises and counsels employers on personnel policies and harassment investigations. Mr. Moran has served as first chair in various trials in state and federal court, as well as before the NLRB, EEOC, Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.
Mr. Moran also represents national franchisors in litigation concerning breach of contract actions, intellectual property disputes, trademark infringement and violation of non-compete agreements. He has additionally successfully counseled his clients in the breakup of franchises when litigation posed too much cost or risk.
Mr. Moran's experience includes the successful representation of municipalities and businesses in and out of court. He also handles claims brought against public sector clients, including police officers and fire fighters.
Mr. Moran earned his J.D., cum laude, from The John Marshall Law School in 2003 and his B.A. in History from the University of Illinois in 2000.
