Gordon & Rees has been included in the San Diego Business Journal's "2012 Largest Law Firms" list as the second largest law firm in San Diego.
With 128 lawyers in its two San Diego county offices, it was only four lawyers shy of the top ranking. Climbing the list from the third spot in 2011, the firm enjoyed the largest percentage of growth among the top 10 firms on the list with a 20% increase to the attorney headcount in the past year. "Client demand has grown rapidly for all of our office's core practice areas," said Kevin Alexander, managing partner of the San Diego office. "In 2013, we expect to continue to grow the office in response to increasing client demand."
Mirroring its growth in San Diego, the firm continued to expand across the country over the past year, opening new offices in Washington, D.C., Carlsbad, California; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; St. Louis, Missouri; Baltimore, Maryland; Tysons Corner, Virginia; and Rapid City, South Dakota. Additionally, California Lawyer magazine named Gordon & Rees the 11th largest firm in California in its 2012 "California 50" and highlighted the firm as one of only three firm's on the list to grow headcount by more than 12% in the past year. Nationally, the firm has more than 525 lawyers in 27 offices across 18 states and is ranked by The American Lawyer as #141 (annual revenue), National Law Journal as #111 (national headcount), and Minority Law Journal as #25 (Diversity Scorecard).
