New York Office managing partner Mercedes Colwin received the Andrew C. Hecker Award, an honor the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel bestows upon the member who authors the year's most outstanding article in the FDCC Quarterly. The FDCC announced the award on August 3, 2012 during its annual Summer Meeting. The winning article - Taming the Town Crier - Litigation and the Media - complimented her presentation to the FDCC at the 2011 Williamsburg Annual Meeting. The Summer Meeting is also the time when the FDCC announces leadership changes, which include new positions for Mercedes Colwin and New Jersey partner Elizabeth Lorell. Mercedes was selected as the Vice Chair of the Employment Section for the 2012-2013 year. Elizabeth was elected as a Director of the FDCC and was selected as the Program Chair for the San Antonio Winter 2013 FDCC Program. Elizabeth has held numerous leadership positions within the FDCC, including Chair (2010-2011) and Vice Chair (2007 - 2009) of the Employment Practices and Workplace Liability Section (2011), Co-Chair of the E-Discovery Taskforce (since 2007), and Vice-Chair of the ADR Masters Project (since 2008).
