On May 17, 2012, Gordon & Rees LLP was a proud Bronze sponsor of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association’s (OCWLA) Judge of the Year Award program, recognizing the Hon. Franz Miller of the Orange County Superior Court for his dedication to bench, bar and community. The evening program held at The Center Club in Costa Mesa also awarded bar stipends to two law school graduates who had studied and taken the February bar examination. The event was also the OCWLA’s annual fundraiser which enables the association to present bar stipend awards and make charitable giving possible
Gordon & Rees partner and OCWLA President Patricia Lee-Gulley was the master of ceremonies of the event. Gordon & Rees’s Orange County office has supported OCWLA’s Diversity Bar Stipend Award since its inception in 2007 when it was founded by then Director Patricia Lee-Gulley. The OCWLA awarded its first Diversity Bar Stipend Award in 2008 and has continued to award the diversity stipend annually. The OCWLA’s Diversity Bar Stipend Award and Bar Stipend Award are given out twice a year to selected applicants who are recent law school graduates studying for the California State Bar Examination and who best meet the OCWLA stipend criteria.
Patricia Lee-Gulley was also featured in the May 2012 issue of the OC Lawyer magazine as the current OCWLA President.
