Gordon & Rees proudly continues its sponsorship of the 7th Annual Diversity for Success Seminar provided by the Defense Research Institute on June 7-8 in Chicago, IL. The seminar will examine the progress of diversity in the legal profession and provide strategies to increase diversity efforts. The seminar will also address best practices to incorporate diverse attorneys in the drafting of a winning request for proposal, manage a successful minority and/or women-owned firm, and breaking through obstacles diverse professionals face.
Gordon & Rees's involvement is led by Partner Dominic Campodonico, Chair of the San Francisco office's Diversity Committee, and Denver Partner Franz Hardy, Chair of the firm's national Diversity Committee. On June 7, Dominic will serve as moderator on the topic "Innovative Ways Bar Associations are Increasing Awareness About the Importance of Diversity." The discussion will address the role local and national specialty bar associations have in promoting diversity to law firms, law schools, and in-house legal departments. Franz, who is also the President-Elect of the Colorado Asian Pacific American Bar Association, will be joined by co-panelists D'Arcy Kemmitz of the National Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Bar Association and Diana Sen of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Dominic is a member of DRI's Diversity Steering Committee and will also serve as the Chair of the marketing committee for the Diversity for Success Seminar.
