Gordon & Rees took home multiple honors at United Way of the Bay Area’s 25th Anniversary Koko Challenge Awards, held on Feb. 26 in San Francisco. The Koko Challenge Awards are decided by the Bay Area General Counsel (BAGC) Group and are given to the Bay Area law firms that run the top campaigns for raising money and volunteering to help those less fortunate in the community. As a result of the generosity of Gordon & Rees employees, the firm took home the following awards from the event:
United Way of the Bay Area Focus Award – This award is given to the Bay Area law firm that shows the most commitment to be engaged in United Way’s goal to cut poverty in half by 2020.
Koko Community Award – This award is provided to three Bay Area law firms that have raised a significant amount of money toward the United Way Community Fund, which is used, in part, to cut poverty.
Silverback Award – Andrew Cary, co-chair of the firm’s Electronic Discovery Group, received the Silverback Award, which is given annually to the attorney who demonstrates the most remarkable leadership among all the Bay Area law firms when it comes to running the Koko Campaign.
This year, participating firms in the Bay Area raised more than $1.5 million as part of the Koko Campaign. Thank you to all Gordon & Rees employees who participated in the campaign during 2012.
