On Feb. 10, Gordon & Rees Houston partner Laura E. De Santos was named the 2015 convention chair for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
De Santos has held several IADC leadership positions, including her current position as a member of the board of directors for the Foundation of the IADC. Her work for the foundation includes developing the IADC’s involvement in the National High School Mock Trial Championship to help the next generation of trial lawyers. The foundation serves as a platform for educating the public and the legal community on litigation issues and supporting the integrity of the legal system throughout the world.
De Santos has been an IADC member since 2003. She served as the Membership Committee chair from 2009-2011 and vice chair from 2007-2008, and as chair of the Diversity Committee from 2006-2007. IADC is an invitation-only, peer-reviewed association that has served a distinguished membership of corporate and insurance defense attorneys for more than 85 years.
