Gordon & Rees Raleigh partner Knicole Emanuel was interviewed and quoted in the article “Decision favors accused agency.” The article highlighted a victory for Emanuel and senior counsel Robert Shaw in their representation of a behavioral health care agency that was forced to shut down after Medicaid payments were frozen due to fraud allegations.
A state District Court judge in Santa Fe last week reversed the department’s ruling that the health care agency owed $379,000 to the state. “And it could set a precedent for other such appeals that may be filed,” stated Emanuel.
For more than 15 years, Knicole Emanuel has maintained a litigation practice, concentrating on Medicare and Medicaid litigation, health care regulatory compliance, administrative law and regulatory law.
Robert Shaw has extensive litigation experience, including representation of health care clients in Medicare and Medicaid litigation, provider disputes, administrative law, tax matters, complex business litigation, and regulatory compliance.
