Gordon & Rees Pittsburgh office managing partner Manoj Jegasothy was quoted in a recent article published by The Legal Intelligencer in which he discusses the firm's growth in Pittsburgh. The article discusses the recent exapansion of law firms into the area due to an increase of new matters in health care, technology, finance and even energy despite previous declines in energy work.
"Pittsburgh has had another kind of renaissance," Jegasothy said. He stated that "he expected the energy market to return, but he said firms need to be diversified in their practice mix in the meantime. Jegasothy pointed to health care and commercial litigation as other areas of growth potential."
"At some of the smaller, more regional Pittsburgh firms, [there are] excellent lawyers [who are] looking for a more national platform without necessarily having international-type rates," Jegasothy said. "So many firms have come into Pittsburgh to capitalize on that."
