Gordon & Rees Partner Reid Dammann was a featured panelist during a presentation on "Conducting IP Audits" at the 32nd Global IP Conference on February 23, 2017 in San Francisco. Dammann joined three other panelists to present a discussion on the purpose, key issues and benefits of an IP Audit.
As part of the panel, Dammann discussed how IP audits involve a systematic review of the IP assets owned, used or acquired by a business. He explained how IP Audits uncover under-utilized IP assets and help identify any threats to a company’s bottom line thus assisting business planners in devising informed strategies to maintain and improve the company’s market position. With Dammann's experience in litigation, he shed light on the benefits of information gained from an IP audit during litigation.
Overall, the Global IP Conference covered a range of topics related to Litigation, e-Discovery, IP, Patents, Trademark, Copyright, Cyber Security and Social Media Crisis.
