Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani partner James E. Robinson has been selected as a 2017 DRI Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award recipient. Robinson is one of two award winners this year and was chosen for his work as Chair of DRI's Aviation Law Committee.
The Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award honors a current or immediate past DRI Committee Chair whose committee has achieved its stated goals including presenting successful seminars and producing high-quality publications, increased committee membership, motivated committee membership participation including participation by minorities, created and implemented new projects, and, filled all required committee leadership positions.
Robinson was presented with the award at the Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 5, at the 2017 DRI Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. The luncheon featured keynote speaker Major Heather Penney, who is most widely recognized for her service on September 11, when she was one of two pilots ordered to ram and down United Flight 93 before it reached Washington, D.C. airspace.
Robinson is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Gordon & Rees where his practice includes the defense of aviation, products liability, commercial litigation, construction and appellate matters. His clients include major aviation manufacturers, commercial airlines, pilots, Part 135 operators, FBOs, certified Repair Stations and aviation insurers. He has handled wrongful death and survival actions, product liability and construction defect claims, commercial litigation, ground handling claims, passenger injury claims, commercial disputes, and product recalls, in a number of jurisdictions around the country, at trial and on appeal.
