Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Chicago Office will be honored with the South Asian Bar Association's (SABA) Diversity Award on Saturday, October 6 at the 9th Annual SABA Chicago Annual Gala. The Chicago office has been a continuing sponsor of SABA's Annual Gala and the organizations conferences and events hosted throughout the year.

From the Chicago office, both Partner Avanti Bakane and Associate Chirag Patel have been actively involved with SABA Chicago. Bakane served as a member of the executive board for several years before being elected President of SABA in 2015. Since completing her presidency, Bakane has been a member of the organization’s Foundation and Advisory Council. Patel is currently serving as SABA's President-Elect and will become President in 2019. Patel has been a member of the executive board since 2015. From 2015 through 2017, he served as Vice President of Public Relations where he oversaw communications with the organization’s membership.
The South Asian Bar Association supports law student public interest scholarships and other causes that benefit the South Asian community in Chicago. Its Advisory Council is comprised of experienced former members of the SABA Chicago executive board. The Advisory Council's primary role is to leverage their past experience to counsel the SABA Chicago Executive Board on ways the organization could meet its mission of serving the South Asian community.
