On January 16, 2018, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani was a co-sponsor of "The State of Diversity in the Colorado Legal Profession: The Perspective of the Bar Associations" program which joined leaders from all of the Colorado minority bar associations, along with the Colorado Bar Association and Denver Bar Association for a one-hour roundtable discussion of the state of diversity in the legal profession. Gordon & Rees's Denver Partner and Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee, Franz Hardy, moderated the discussion on behalf of the Denver Bar Association. The event was held at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
The discussion included the perspectives of eight bar associations and raised the important issues of diversity in the context of history, current events, and the future. The program was followed by a reception at the courthouse where attendees were invited to visit with the bar leaders to learn more about their organizations. Several members of the Colorado federal and state judiciary, along with many leaders in the legal community were in attendance at this event, which followed the holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
