Lisa M. Cappelluti has joined Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani as a partner in the firm's Construction practice group in the San Francisco office. Cappelluti previously had opened and managed the San Francisco office of a firm specializing in Construction litigation only.

Cappelluti has substantial experience assisting developer and general contractor clients in construction litigation and contract matters. She represents clients throughout the state in pre-litigation disputes and construction litigation involving defect issues, construction site injuries, environmental issues, mold claims, contract and delay claims impacting both residential and commercial construction projects. Cappelluti's trial successes include obtaining a defense verdict on two separate construction trials as well as favorable trial verdicts in construction site injury and construction defect trials. In addition, Cappelluti has been instrumental in assisting clients in forming corporations, preparing residential development documents for associated real estates transactions, and preparing contracts for developer and construction clients. She also has advised her clients on the procurement and administration of WRAP/OCIP insurance policies. She frequently lectures to members of different contractor groups on construction issues, contract disputes and risk allocation issues facing the construction industry. She also has published several articles for the construction industry.
Cappelluti is admitted to practice in California. She earned her law degree from the University of San Francisco and her bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University. She served as the Chair of the State Bar of California Litigation Section and is a member of the Association of General Contractors, Association of Defense Counsel and Claims Resource Management where she regularly serves on panels.
Also joining Cappelluti at Gordon & Rees' San Francisco office is Senior Counsel Peter M. Geckeler. Geckeler specializes in the fields of construction law and litigation, real estate law and litigation, insurance litigation and business litigation. He has a varied civil litigation practice primarily involving construction and insurance matters throughout Northern California. His construction practice focuses on the representation of residential and commercial builders and developers in complex, multi-party construction defect matters. He has handled real estate transaction disputes, SB 800 claims, Calderon Act claims, and complex construction defect actions involving hundreds of plaintiffs and dozens of cross-defendants. He has also litigated catastrophic property damage, personal injury and wrongful death cases involving premises liability and construction site accidents.
Geckeler is a memberof the firm's Construction, Insurance, Commercial Litigation, and Tort & Product Liability practice groups. Geckeler earned his law degree from Washington University School of Law and his bachelor's degree from Oberlin College. He is a member of the Association of General Contractors.
