Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani partner Craig Jacobson and senior counsel Chirag Patel served as panelists for the Chicago Bar Association’s webinar entitled, “Legal Protections in Response to a Global Pandemic,” on May 12, 2020. Associate Christina Flores served as moderator.
The webinar addressed multiple legal areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and its continued hampering of the economy. This is particularly timely for many businesses as the world’s workforce continues to respond to safe-at-home orders and local shelter-in-place orders are extended. Jacobson discussed business interruption insurance and Patel crisis management and pandemic response plans. Panelists also covered COVID-19 from a merger and acquisition perspective and the invocation and drafting of force majeure and other similar clauses.
Jacobson is a partner in the Chicago office and concentrates his practice on litigation and the handling of complex insurance coverage disputes. He regularly represents domestic and international insurers in matters involving property policies, cyber policies, commercial general liability policies, financial institution coverages, commercial crime policies, director and officer liability policies, professional liability policies and specialty lines.
Patel is senior counsel in the Chicago office and represents clients in litigation matters throughout the United States with a particular focus on technology related issues. He has successfully represented clients in the areas of technology, data, and e-commerce, consumer and class action defense, commercial and creditors' rights, and employment, trade secrets, and restrictive covenants.
Flores is an associate in the Chicago office and a member of the Insurance, Consumer Protection Litigation, and Class Action practice groups. She represents domestic and international insurers in matters involving property policies, cyber policies, commercial general liability policies, financial institution coverages, commercial crime policies, director and officer liability policies, professional liability policies and specialty lines.
