Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani partner Natalie Fujikawa has been elected to serve as Board President for the Sacramento LGBT Community Center. The Center works to create a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive by supporting the health and wellness of the most marginalized, advocating for equality and justice, and working to build a culturally rich LGBTQ+ community.
Fujikawa’s tenure as Board President arrives on the heels of the Center’s purchase of a new headquarters in Sacramento’s historic Lavender Heights neighborhood, as well as its transition to online services and virtual events in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Board membership carries a three-year term, with officer elections occurring every year.
“I am honored and excited to lead the Center’s Board of Directors. The staff and leadership team have worked hard to offer new options for emergency shelter, transitional housing, and host homes to LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, and have done an amazing job of bringing our events and services virtual in light of the pandemic. I look forward to working more with the leadership team and my fellow esteemed Board members as the Center continues its exponential growth and important services for the Sacramento LGBTQ community,” said Fujikawa.
Fujikawa is a member of the firm’s Employment Law practice group. She focuses on employment litigation and counseling for employers across a variety of industries, with extensive experience handling all aspects of employment litigation in state and federal courts.
