Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has named Philadelphia partner Jim Robinson to lead the firm’s Aviation Practice Group. Robinson will be taking over from Ann Thornton Field who has successfully led and grown this practice since joining the firm in 2013.
Gordon & Rees has a multi-disciplinary national aviation law practice encompassing all aspects of aviation law services provided by lawyers located throughout our offices, including product liability, general liability, employment law, labor law, ERISA, bankruptcy, immigration, tax, wealth management, toxic tort, and hospitality. Many of the aviation practice group’s attorneys are licensed pilots and some have been involved in commercial aviation operations. Others have guided commercial aviation operators and aircraft owners in the process of purchasing, owning and operating these substantial assets.
Robinson’s practice includes the defense of aviation, products liability, commercial litigation, construction and appellate matters. His clients include major manufacturers, commercial airlines, pilots, Part 135 operators, FBOs, Repair Stations and aviation insurers. He has handled wrongful death and survival actions, product liability and construction defect claims, commercial litigation, ground handling claims, passenger injury claims, commercial disputes, and product recalls, in a number of jurisdictions around the country, at trial and on appeal.
He currently serves as a Vice-Chair of the ABA TIPS Aviation and Space Law Committee, and is immediate past Chair of the DRI Aviation Law Committee, and a member of the DRI Judicial Task Force.
