San Francisco partner Fletcher Alford and associate Kevin Liu recently served on a panel titled, “United States Supreme Court: Cases to Watch in 2020,” with former Oregon Supreme Court Justice Rives Kistler. The panel was moderated by partner Jordan Altura.
The presentation broke down ten noteworthy cases in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in their upcoming session. The audience was composed of the legal, compliance and human resources groups for the firm's client, a major insurance company.
Alford focuses his practice on commercial litigation and the defense of class actions along with other complex matters in trial and appellate courts, with an emphasis on claims involving financial services, product liability, consumer fraud, breach of contract and unfair business practices. He has extensive trial and appellate experience and handles complex cases before state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Altura is a commercial litigator experienced in complex insurance litigation, class actions and other business and contractual disputes. He handles life, health and disability matters, litigation involving property and casualty, CGL and excess coverage and annuities. He has extensive class action experience including cases alleging improper sales and claims handling practices, fraud and consumer protection claims.
Liu focuses on commercial litigation and class action cases involving consumer fraud, breach of contract, and unfair business practices. He has successfully litigated matters involving officer and shareholder liability, professional malpractice, environmental compliance, and general real estate and business disputes.
