Megan Adeyemo and Annie Matthews Assisted in Authorship for ABA’s Bankruptcy Claims Handbook

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Dallas partner Megan Adeyemo and associate Annie Matthews co-authored "The Bankruptcy Claims Handbook, Second Edition" published by the American Bar Association (“ABA”).

The Bankruptcy Claims Handbook is an essential resource to help lawyers develop greater familiarity and understanding of bankruptcy law, it provides entry into bankruptcy analysis and processes for practitioner's embarking on identifying, asserting, objecting to and/or defending claims in a bankruptcy case and evaluating the manner that claims may be treated.

A practical resource for novice and seasoned bankruptcy lawyers, this second edition includes recent case law and substantial updates. It provides an understanding of the bankruptcy claims process, rights and duties of debtors and creditors, priority scheme, the objection process, and grounds for challenging discharge of a particular claim. Includes legal analysis and answers important questions.

Adeyemo is a partner in the Business Transactions, Bankruptcy, Restructuring, & Creditors’ Rights, Real Estate, D&O and Shareholder Litigation and Banking & Finance practice groups. She is co-chair of the firm’s national Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors' Rights practice group. She has substantial experience in the representation of debtors, creditors and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings throughout the United States.

Matthews is a member of the Business Transactions and Bankruptcy, Restructuring, & Creditors’ Rights practice groups. She cultivated her interest in bankruptcy during a class at SMU taught by the Honorable Harlin D. Hale, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Texas. The following year she worked for a creditors’ rights firm where she gained valuable experience representing creditors and trustees.
