Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Portland Senior Counsel, Katrina Durek, has been inducted as Northwest Regional Governor for the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (“NFALA”) and served as a guest speaker at the Annual Gala on Thursday, November 4. This will be her second, one-year term in this role.
NFALA was started in 2012 when several Filipino American attorneys met in Washington, D.C. at the annual convention of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (“NAPABA”). At that meeting, the group committed to the creation of an all-inclusive attorney organization whose mission was to unite the Filipino American community, help its members succeed in the legal profession and advocate for Filipino American interests.
Eight years later, NFALA have become the national voice for the Filipino American legal profession with over 1500 members. They advocate for justice, civil rights, and equal opportunity for the Filipino American community.
Durek’s practice spans the Pacific Northwest. Her expertise includes business and commercial litigation, employment and general liability. Her clients include multinational companies in the industries of retail, recreational sports and gig economy apps. She evaluates risk and exposure of claims and recommends litigation strategies to corporate clients. She represents and counsels businesses in employment matters including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, ADA compliance and commercial litigation.
