Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Michael W. Goodin as a partner in the firm’s Irvine, California office. He joins the firm's Insurance Coverage and Litigation practice groups. He concentrates his practice on the handling of complex commercial, construction and tort litigation matters on a national basis in both Federal and State Courts. His practice includes a wide variety of cases taken to jury trial as well as many years of experience handling tort and contract disputes though various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including binding arbitration and mediation.
In the insurance law arena, Michael has successfully defended major insurers in bad faith litigation and declaratory relief actions in State and Federal Court. He specializes in handling complex disputes involving insurance coverage matters and rendering advice under a wide variety of policies, including property, liability and umbrella policies. He spent nearly ten years in the claims management field for two major insurance carriers before embarking on a legal career.
Michael has litigated on behalf of national and multi-national corporations, including semiconductor manufacturers, tire manufacturers, tomato growers, mining companies and equipment suppliers and has handled multi-million dollar disputes involving design and construction defect claims. He has also represented public entities in a variety of litigation matters, including actions for injunctive relief.

He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
He graduated with distinction from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis with a major in Biochemistry.
