Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Cannabis, Hemp & CBD practice group leaders Christopher Strunk, Stacy Moon and Philip Robert Brinson will present at DRI's 2022 Cannabis Law Seminar on Wednesday, September 7 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Strunk and Moon will present "Products Liability in Cannabis." They will discuss the legal issues and ramifications arising out of the growing number of cannabis related and cannabis adjacent products liability cases in the United States. The expanding cannabis market, coupled with its relative infancy and opportunistic attorneys, creates risk for more product liability litigation in the future. They will present on product liability actions that the cannabis industry may face, and provide some thoughts on how to best prepare for and defend these claims. They will also examine other litigation risks that may be faced by the industry, including nuisance and civil RICO claims.

Brinson will present, "Current Trends in Cannabis Mergers and Acquisitions at Home and Abroad."  The cannabis industry is rapidly growing, with U.S. legal sales expected to hit $22 billion this year. Mergers and acquisitions in the cannabis industry have begun to take off as the industry evolves and grows. He will discuss recent M&A news in the industry, address common challenges in Cannabis M&A, and how operators can prepare for future activity in this exciting area.

Along with CLE and networking opportunities, DRI's 2022 Cannabis Law Seminar features an up-to-date overview of cannabis legalization, at the state & federal levels; data on trends in, and issues facing, the growing cannabis insurance industry; legal developments in products liability and mergers & acquisitions in the cannabis space; challenges, issues, and the successes of talented women in the cannabis industry; and the nuanced and challenging social justice problems still facing the world of cannabis.
