Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani New York construction partner Virginia Trunkes has taken office as Co-President of Judges And Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert ("JALBCA") as of its 30th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Presentation Dinner on Monday, May 9.
At this event Chief Judge Janet DiFiore, JALBCA’s Honorary President, presented JALBCA’s Leadership Achievement Award to all the District Court Judges of the Southern District of New York with Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain accepting on behalf of her colleagues.
JALBCA promotes education, early detection initiatives and legal services to those affected by breast cancer and provides supporting services to facilitate breast cancer detection for those with little or no medical insurance and brings hope and legal assistance to women and families in marginalized communities. They also fund legal initiatives to assist people in crisis following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Trunkes represents developers, health care providers, apartment building, brownstone and condominium unit owners, cooperative boards of directors, and other commercial property owners, as well as construction managers, contractors and subcontractors, in negotiating their construction and design services contracts and adjacent-owner license access agreements. With more than two decades of experience handling complex litigation and appellate practice, she counsels her clients to appreciate, navigate and overcome the obstacles inherent in construction projects and their impact on the parties’ legal positions, and advocates on their behalf when conflicts arise.
