Gordon & Rees Chicago Partner Avanti Bakane was honored at the 35th Annual Installation Ceremony of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area "AABA Chicago" on February 1 at the University Club of Chicago.
Ms. Bakane received the Law Firm Partner Diversity Leadership Award. Gordon & Rees’ Hayes Ryan introduced her with an emphasis on Avanti’s leadership style of a “magnetic personality, integrity, and compassion.” He added, “a better day is coming to our legal community with the strength of leadership of Avanti and AABA Chicago. The theme of the night and the year moving forward is inspiration. Through her leadership, Avanti inspires this change, and we congratulate her for earning this award.”
The firm had a strong showing at the event, joined by Chicago lawyers Nandini Pillai, Todd Murphy, and Jonathon Drews, in addition to Mr. Ryan and Ms. Bakane. Gordon & Rees’ guests included in-house counsel at McDonald’s and Binance and leaders of the Chicago legal community.
This annual dinner recognizes esteemed legal community colleagues and AABA Chicago incoming officers, board of directors, and honorary directors.
