Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani is proud to honor and celebrate our talented LGBTQ+ employees, clients, and allies year round, but with a special emphasis during the month of June. June is Pride month to pay homage to the Stonewall Riots, which began on June 28, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City, sparking a series of protests and igniting the modern gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights movement.
The Stonewall uprising was an impetus for an emerging civil, women’s, and gay rights movement. A year after the Stonewall uprising, the nation's first Gay Pride marches were held.
The firm remains steadfast in our longstanding commitment to pursuing equality for everyone as we continue to build and maintain an inclusive workplace that not only accepts, but honors and appreciates the diversity of our members. “I am very proud of our ongoing support for the LGBTQ community—a cause that we have championed for many years,” noted Firmwide Managing Partner Dion Cominos, “and we look forward to continuing to foster a culture of acceptance and inclusion at the firm where opportunities for advancement and success are fully available to all.”
Gordon & Rees' LGBTQ Affinity Group’s mission is to highlight and address the unique issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and to provide support and mentoring opportunities to its members.
