Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani is pleased to announce the addition of Partner James R. Embrey, Jr. and Senior Counsel Nelson T. Rainey to the firm's Nashville, Tennessee office.
Embrey focuses his litigation practice on medical malpractice, transportation, and general liability actions on both the local and national level.
As a trial lawyer, Embrey represents numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as individual professionals and honed his legal craft while working in-house as a Managing Counsel and General Counsel for multi-billion-dollar insurance corporations. This dual experience gives him insight and knowledge to anticipate the needs of his clients and provide exceptional, efficient and effective service. His clients include physicians, nurses and hospitals, trucking carriers and insurers, as well as businesses, retailers, and homeowners. Embrey represents clients in both state and federal court throughout the country and is peer-rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
Earlier in his career, he served as an Airborne Infantryman in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his service in the Middle East.
He is admitted to practice in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and the U.S. District Court, Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Tennessee.

Nelson T. Rainey is Senior Counsel in the firm's Nashville office. Rainey focuses his practice on medical malpractice, professional negligence, health care, professional malpractice and ethics litigation. He also counsels clients in construction, premises liability, real estate, business transactions, corporate and partnership, contracts and other matters.
