Seattle Co-Managing Partner Sarah Turner will serve as a speaker for "Discrimination Cases and Emotional Distress Damages: Implications of Cummings v. Premier Rehab Keller," presented by Strafford via a live 90-minute CLE video webinar followed by an interactive Q&A on Wednesday, August 23, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern.
The panel will address the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Cummings v. Premier Rehab Keller, which held that damages for emotional distress are not recoverable in a private action for discrimination. The panel will discuss how this will likely affect future employment claims, particularly allegations of sex or disability discrimination, and the limitation on damages for both employers and employees.
