Louisville Partner Denise Motta will deliver a presentation entitled "How to Build a Better Mouse Trap: Putting Together Change Orders that Will Get Paid" at the Southern Association of Steel Fabricators ("SASF") Fall Meeting in New York City, on October 24–25, 2024.
The presentation will cover best practices for negotiating effective change order provisions and preparing change orders to ensure timely payments, including the necessary documentation required if a claim arises.
Motta has extensive experience litigating complex litigation claims in state and federal courts. Her emphasis is on construction litigation and the representation of steel fabricators and other parties on large construction projects, such as stadiums and bridges. She provides advice to clients on contract negotiation and complex business disputes, including claims of non-payment, delay, acceleration, and allegations of defective construction. Motta is a panel member with the American Arbitration Association, Construction and Commercial.
