The American Bar Association recently published an article in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal (Vol. 50-2) co-authored by Gordon & Rees Chicago partner Craig A. Jacobson. In the article, titled “Recent Developments in Property Insurance Law,” Jacobson discusses recent noteworthy cases on a number of significant property insurance issues, including business interruption coverage, covered property limitations, the application of common exclusions, damages, the obligations and rights of parties, and bad faith. Jacobson also analyzes the recent decisions arising from Superstorm Sandy litigation.
Jacobson concentrates his practice on handling and litigating complex insurance coverage disputes. He represents domestic and international insurers in matters involving coverage issues arising under property policies. Jacobson has successfully litigated a number of major first-party property insurance coverage actions across the United States, including claims arising from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and from Hurricane Katrina.
