The Minneapolis GRSM trial team of Partner Ellen A. Brinkman, Partner David A. Schooler, Associate Samuel A. Meshbesher, and paralegal Elissa Becker obtained a favorable ruling following a trial on behalf of a national commercial bakery.
The plaintiff alleged race, age, and disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and retaliation following his termination. After a finding of probable cause by the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights on two of the five counts, the matter went to trial. The plaintiff claimed $12 million in damages as a result of his termination. The trial court rejected the claims and awarded the plaintiff one dollar in damages and no attorney’s fees.
