Cyber, Privacy & Data Security Partners Joseph Salvo, Brian Middlebrook, John Mills, and Of Counsel Justin Holmes successfully achieved the centralization and coordination of over 50 data breach class action cases pending in federal courts throughout the country, potentially impacting millions of individuals across the nation. This is a significant win for the Defense Bar, following the plaintiffs’ counsels’ strategic attempts to avoid centralization of widespread data breach litigation arising from a core data breach.
Granting Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani’s motion for centralization following contentious argument, the Judicial Panel on Multi-District Litigation ordered the cases centralized in the Southern District of Florida, where GRSM was already representing clients in a number of related class action cases.
