We have an immediate opening for a Risk Management-Client Matter Lifecycle Clerk.  Ideal candidates must have 1-3 years of experience related to the responsibilities and duties outlined below.  A professional demeanor is required, as well as excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with candidates, attorneys, management and staff.  Law firm experience is highly desired.  This is a full-time position, with flexible options to work a remote, hybrid or onsite schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point of contact on billing setup for Partners and legal assistants.
  • Input and maintain client billing information set-up and special instructions in accounting database, including matter budgets, timekeeper rates, and more.
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing setup to ensure accurate and prompt invoicing according to each Client’s specific needs.
  • Ensure Client’s initial matter billing setup aligns with their Billing and Outside Counsel Guidelines.
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing documentation as required.
  • Confirm rates and any fee arrangements are reflected for each individual matter.
  • Communicate with Attorneys, Billing Team, Client Service Specialist, and other staff to support the successful flow of billing information within the New Business Intake workflow.
  • Drive standardization and innovation alongside future growth.
  • Ensure Firm policies and practices are followed; promote consistency and education on professional and technical matters to meet Client and Firm billing objectives.
  • Assist with other special projects, ad hoc reports, and activities as needed, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; an A.A. or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; at least one year related experience in a large law firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in general accounting practices.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with legal and/or electronic billing processes and practices, and prior experience with Aderant or Elite billing systems.
  • Experience with Intapp OPEN Intake preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to analyze financial data.
  • Analytical, intellectually curious, and motivated to seek out answers and solutions.
  • Familiarity and comfort dealing with legal documents and contracts required.
  • Ability to multitask, working both independently and as part of a team, in a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Salary range: $35,000 -$50,000 (Depends on Experience)
