The ABA Business Bankruptcy Fall Meeting will be held October 12-15 in Tampa, Florida in conjunction with the 85th Annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. On October 12, Denver attorney Megan Adeyemo will be a panelist on the topic of "Everything You Prefer to Avoid: What You Really Should Know About Transfers, Preferences and Avoidance Actions." Co-panelists include the Honorable Margaret A. Mahoney, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, and Honorable Robert Mark, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge. Ms. Adeyemo is currently a co-chair of the Bankruptcy Sub-Section of the Colorado Bar Association, Treasurer of the Mountain/Desert Network of the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, and a member of the American Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
The National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges is an association of the Bankruptcy Judges of the United States which has several purposes: to provide continuing legal education to judges, lawyers and other involved professionals, to promote cooperation among the Bankruptcy Judges, to secure a greater degree of quality and uniformity in the administration of the Bankruptcy system and to improve the practice of law in the Bankruptcy Courts of the United States.
The ABA Business Bankruptcy Committee is the world's largest organization of bankruptcy restructuring lawyers made up exclusively of bankruptcy attorneys, law professors and judges. The Committee offers educational programs on business bankruptcy for the most sophisticated practitioner to the new lawyer. The Committee has become the go-to organization for bankruptcy reform, and develops and reviews proposed bankruptcy legislation and rules.
