Ari C. Shapiro is co-managing partner of the Miami office of GRSM. He is a member of the firm’s Product Liability, Environmental, Toxic Tort, and Construction Litigation practice groups.
Ari’s clients include machinery, automobile, engine, elevator and other product manufacturers. Ari’s also represents insurance companies and financial institutions.
Ari also focuses a substantial portion of his practice on construction and land contamination/pollution litigation. Ari has extensive experience dealing with wrap policies but represents developers, general contractors, sub-contractors, engineers and architects individually when Section 558, Fla. Stat. claims arise upon completion of work and turnover of projects to condominium associations.
Ari’s experience includes representation of owners/developers, public entities, and condominium associations in construction and land contamination cases. Ari handles claims arising from construction projects involving sureties and contractors, defective construction claims, the equitable adjustment of contracts, change orders, project delays and unforeseen conditions and claims with respect to land contaminants, defective design, code defects, defective specifications, breach of contract, and failure to perform project management duties, including inspections and responses to requests for information.
He has broad experience, as well as trial experience, handling products liability and complex tort litigation in state and federal courts. Ari also has extensive experience in the areas of products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, crashworthiness, and insurance coverage and bad faith. Ari currently is Florida counsel for Tecumseh Products Company, Volkswagen of America, Bennett Auto Supply and Actuant.
