Biography

Connie Felix Chen is an Associate in the Miami office of GRSM and a member of the Employment Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups.
Originally from Connecticut, Connie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and minor in sociology from Emory University in Atlanta.  She then moved to Miami to attend the University of Miami School of Law on a merit scholarship.  During law school, she was an editor and published author of the Inter-American Law Review and a competing member on the Moot Court team.  After earning her J.D., cum laude, in 2017, Connie completed a clerkship with the Hon. Milton Hirsch in the 11th Judicial Circuit, during which she gained valuable insight into the Florida judicial system.

Prior to joining GRSM, Connie worked for a boutique complex commercial litigation firm in Miami, where she was involved in the representation of an international logistics corporation and a prominent South Florida developer.  Connie subsequently worked for a national insurance defense firm, with a focus on employment and contract litigation.  She has experience defending management against a variety of labor and employment disputes brought under Title VII, FCRA, and FLSA, including claims of race and sex discrimination, wrongful termination, and withholding of wages and benefits, resulting in favorable resolutions at both the administrative and judicial levels. Connie also defends property owners and corporations in premises liability and negligent security actions, resulting in dismissals with prejudice at summary judgment.

Outside of law, Connie took a brief hiatus from the legal profession to build a successful e-commerce business.  She returned to practice with GRSM to aggressively advocate for her commercial clients and protect their business interests.

Connie is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, and Florida Association for Women Lawyers.  She is also a former competitive athlete who enjoys kickboxing, dancing, and art.
