Miami partner Joseph A. Sacher served as the moderator of a judicial panel that included Miami Partner and former Circuit and District Court Chief Judge David M. Gersten. The judicial panel was part of a high-profile program, sponsored by The Florida Bar, titled "Practicing with Professionalism."
All newly admitted attorneys are required to attend the program during their first year of practice, as mandatory continuing legal education (CLE). Sacher and Gersten were joined by sitting Florida Circuit Court Judges Stanford Blake and Abby Cynamon. The panel discussed the Florida rules of professional responsibility in various contexts illustrated by video vignettes. Sacher led the discussions and asked each of the judges to discuss their various experiences. He also provided his own views, as a member of The Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee.
Gersten represents clients in litigation and appeals in a multitude of areas, including commercial, labor, administrative, real estate, land use, and probate law. He strategically advises clients on honing their legal issues to navigate potential evidence and procedural obstacles with both trial and post-trial implications in mind. Additionally, Mr. Gersten often serves as a mediator and arbitrator in complex cases.
Sacher is a member of the Securities Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Appellate practice groups. He has extensive litigation, trial, and appellate experience in securities and complex commercial litigation in State and Federal courts. He represents individuals, businesses, accountants and accounting firms, and financial institutions in general and complex, multi-million dollar civil litigation as both plaintiffs and defendants.
