Macy joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She represents businesses and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. She focuses her practice on the defense of claims related to contractual disputes, real property, business torts, premises liability and general negligence. In addition, Macy has represented municipalities in legal matters, conducting both civil and criminal proceedings as a city attorney. Macy earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Aaron joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He represents established businesses, individuals, insurance companies, heavy trucking companies and transportation companies in all aspects of civil litigation. Aaron has experience handling cases involving Michigan No-Fault Law, automobile liability, personal injury, premises liability and general negligence. Aaron earned his J.D. from Michigan State University and his B.S. from Madonna University.
Julian joins the Tampa office as a member of the Insurance practice group. Julian primarily represents insurance carriers against first-party property claims, as well as third-party liability claims. Prior to joining the firm, Julian represented various national creditors in various creditor’s rights litigation. Subsequent to his work in creditor’s rights, he was an Assistant Public Defender in the 13th Judicial Circuit, in and for Hillsborough County, Florida. Julian earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law and his B.A. from the University of South Florida.
Ciera joins the Indianapolis office as a member of the Commercial Litigation, Trucking & Transportation, and Employment Law practice groups. Ciera earned her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Tennessee.
Steven joins the Phoenix office as a member of the Commercial Litigation and Insurance practice groups. Before joining the firm, Steven clerked for the Honorable Randall M. Howe at the Arizona Court of Appeals. In this role, he reviewed complex cases and wrote memorandum decisions and opinions upholding or reversing the judgment of the trial court. Steven earned his J.D. from Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and his B.S. from Northern Arizona University.
Michael joins the Atlanta office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has extensive litigation experience defending clients in commercial litigation, product liability, first and third party automobile liability, trucking liability, negligent security, premises liability, and professional liability claims. Michael earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and his B.S. from the University of West Georgia.
John joins as the Detroit Office Managing Partner and member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has defended high-exposure cases for more than 25 years, focusing his practice in medical, accounting and legal malpractice; transportation; product liability and general liability as well as large Michigan no-fault cases. He also handles environmental matters, business and employment disputes, contract actions, E&O liability and municipal/school liability cases. John represents major utilities and national retailers and is eminently qualified to defend and evaluate high-demand injury cases. His clients include insurers, commercial businesses and trucking companies, among others. In addition, John has handled high-value cases for major sports facilities and an American League baseball team, national sports associations, major manufacturers, various golf courses, carnival companies, and a number of boat facilities, go cart tracks and waterslides. John earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and his B.A. from Hillsdale College.
Jonathan joins the Williamsburg office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has a background as a trial litigator in Virginia’s state and federal courts. Jonathan has represented both large and small businesses as well as individuals in insurance defense matters through all stages of litigation and appeal. In his current practice, he provides experienced defense counsel to his clients in auto defense, trucking and transportation defense, and defense in premises liability matters. Jonathan earned his J.D. from the College of William & Mary and his B.A. from the University of South Florida.
Niran joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. He practices in all areas of employment litigation, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Niran earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jeffrey joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He litigates employment, complex commercial, products liability, medical malpractice, transportation, general liability, professional liability and workers' compensation matters. In addition, he has experience with maritime law, including the Jones Act and the U.S. Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, representing shipping concerns and waterway terminal owners. Jeffrey serves as lead counsel for a Fortune 500 beverage company and a national specialty gas/propane company and handles commercial litigation, employment and general liability matters for major companies in various industries, including sports equipment and transportation. Jeffrey earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his B.A. from Michigan State University.
Maureen joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She handles various matters on behalf of insurance companies and corporate defendants. She practices in the areas of general liability, automobile liability, Michigan No-Fault Law and medical malpractice. Maureen earned her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her B.S. from Wayne State University.
Stacey joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She is a recognized authority who brings more than 20 years of experience to the appellate practice in state and federal courts. Well known in the Michigan legal community, Stacey provides advice regarding long-term strategy, procedural issues and drafting complex motions, especially in high-exposure cases, with an eye toward dismissal at the trial level and positioning cases in the best possible way for any eventual appeal. Stacey earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Tammy joins the Tampa office as a member of the Insurance practice group. She is an experienced civil litigator with extensive civil and commercial litigation. She has successfully tried personal injury, medical malpractice, automobile and slip and fall cases. Tammy is also experienced in appellate litigation. She has drafted and negotiated legislation before the State Legislature. Tammy earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.S. from the University of South Florida.
Russell joins the Denver office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Russell was a law clerk for a local firm specializing in business litigation and interned for the Colorado State Personnel Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Prior to and during law school, he worked for a national firm supporting a commercial real estate practice group. Russell earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and his B.A. from Loras College.
Tyler joins the Columbus office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Tyler was an associate attorney at a regional defense firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has represented a wide range of clients in complex litigation and appellate matters, including Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, professional organizations, and even a professional athlete. Prior to entering practice, he also clerked for a Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court, during his tenure at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Tyler earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Adam joins the Hartford office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has twenty years of experience handling complex commercial litigation, investigations, and compliance issues at top national law firms. He has handled hundreds of federal and state court cases around the country and worked on matters from discovery through trial and appeals, including many of the largest nationwide mass torts involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Adam earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Joseph joins the Alexandria office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He is an experienced trial attorney, focusing on business disputes, internet defamation, and cyber-attack/privacy matters. Joseph has tried cases before judges and juries, arbitrated commercial disputes, and argued trial and appellate matters in federal and state courts. He is known for his hard work and creativity in litigation, as well as dedication to pro bono matters. His diverse client base has included defense contractors, healthcare companies, start-up ventures, technology companies, manufacturers, restaurants, bloggers, a radio station, political figures, and high-profile and high-net-worth individuals. Joseph earned his LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S. from Wake Forest University,.
Emily joins the Chicago office as a member of the Insurance and Cyber, Privacy & Data Security practice groups. Prior to joining the firm, Emily was an associate attorney at a Chicago-based defense litigation firm specializing in medical malpractice and professional negligence. She has experience of litigation in both state and federal courts. Emily earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
Lauren joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She handles various matters on behalf of insurance companies and corporate defendants. She practices in the areas of Michigan No-Fault, automobile liability, premises liability, products liability and general liability. Lauren earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
John joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. He is involved in representing employers in a broad range of matters, including claims for wages, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and breach of contract. He also represents employers before administrative agencies, including the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), Workers Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) and Department of Fair Employment of Housing (DFEH). Prior to joining the firm, John was a labor and employment law attorney at a boutique management-side firm. John earned his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and his B.A. from Gonzaga University.
Juliana joins as the Detroit Assistant Office Managing Partner and member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She defends high-exposure cases, focusing her practice in medical, accounting and legal malpractice, in addition to transportation, product liability and general liability, and large Michigan No-Fault cases. She also handles environmental matters, business and employment disputes, contract actions, E&O liability and municipal/school liability cases. Juliana earned her J.D. from Thomas M. Jana joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She focuses her practice on federal Indian law, tribal law and complex civil litigation. Licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Michigan and California, she also is licensed in several tribal courts. Among her work in Indian Country, Jana assists tribal governments by creating and consulting on tribal ordinances and regulations, advising on internal governance and external government-to-government relations, conducting independent investigations involving internal employment-related complaints, and preparing advisory opinions to protect tribal governments and businesses. Jana earned her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and her B.A. from Northern Michigan University.
Cara joins the Detroit office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She handles a wide range of matters on behalf of employers, insurance companies and underwriters. She also has experience in commercial litigation, including labor and employment, bankruptcy, liability and trial preparation, as well as corporate and real estate matters.
