Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Kristina Pedroso as a Partner in the firm's Walnut Creek office. She strengthens the Employment Law practice group, deepening the firm’s bench in California.
Given her many years of employment litigation experience, she is adept at determining client’s rights and liabilities with respect to employee transition, including potential issues regarding non-compete, confidentiality, and non-disclosure of trade secrets, as well as advising clients on intellectual property rights and assignability. She also advises startups on business entity formation, working with tax advisors and CPAs to maximize tax savings, and ensuring proper compliance when transitioning contractors to full-time employees. She is also well-versed in mergers and acquisitions practice, including preparing stock purchase agreements, employee stock options and venture capital funding rounds.
She has a strong background in civil litigation, having worked at several mid to large-sized firms in California and the US. She has successfully handled cases involving catastrophic liability, construction defect, premises liability, and landlord-tenant disputes. She has also served as outside litigation counsel for international technology companies, such as Uber and Doordash, and has developed expertise in driver-based technology and products liability standards. She leverages her litigation skills to provide proactive and strategic advice to her clients, and to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kristina to our Walnut Creek office. Her extensive litigation and business transaction experience will add tremendous value to our team and clients,” shared Mollie Burks, Partner in the firm’s Walnut Creek and Los Angeles offices. “Her ability to handle complex cases and her proactive approach aligns with our commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. We are confident she will further strengthen our Employment Law practice in California and beyond.”
Pedroso is admitted to practice in California. She earned her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, and her undergraduate degree in History from the University of California, Los Angeles.
