Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Partner Susan Meyer and Associate Gregory Brescia successfully shut down an online retailer selling goods around the globe embodying the trademark of the firm’s client, a global electronics company.
The matter involved the unauthorized sale of solid state drives, more commonly known as SSD cards, using the trademark of the firm’s client, through numerous online channels of large retailers. After diligent investigative efforts, Meyer and Brescia sent numerous take down notices to various online sellers leading to removal of the unauthorized goods. Shortly thereafter, Meyer and Brescia engaged in discussions with the imposter directly, zealously advocating for their client’s rights and successfully negotiating the removal of the infringing goods, along with total cessation of the imposter’s use of the trademark associated with the firm’s client.
Despite the imposter’s position regarding non-infringement, the infringer agreed to all terms, leading to a successful outcome for the client.
