Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Raleigh Managing Partner Allison J. Becker has been named Co-Chair of the firm's Healthcare practice group. She joins Bay Area Assistant Managing Partner Lindsey M. Romano in this shared leadership role.

GRSM's national Healthcare practice group focuses on trial and litigation and also assists in compliance, regulatory, and transactions. The Healthcare team represents and advises general and specialty hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, acute psychiatric hospitals, residential behavioral health facilities, and other healthcare providers. The group's experience includes malpractice, elder abuse, contract, class action, fraud, compliance, reimbursement, False Claims Act, and HIPAA matters. GRSM lawyers have notable experience in successfully defending physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits, state licensing, grievance, and disciplinary proceedings.
Ms. Becker is a thought leader in the healthcare industry, frequently speaking at industry conferences and authoring publications on healthcare and correctional care matters. Her healthcare practice involves defending providers against all manner of claims—including claims of catastrophic injury, constitutional violations, and wrongful death—in all stages of litigation, from pre-suit evaluation to appeals. In addition, Ms. Becker represents her healthcare clients before medical, dental, nursing, and mental health licensing boards. She also has extensive experience defending correctional medical, dental, and mental health providers across the country against Section 1983 deliberate indifference claims. Ms. Becker has tried cases in North Carolina and Virginia and argued before the North Carolina Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
